Raisin Pudding Cake

This is my father-in-law's FAVORITE recipe!

Ingredients:

Pudding...
2 c. boiling water
1 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. raisins (washed first)
1 T. butter

1 tsp. vanilla

Cake...
1 T. butter

1/2 c. white sugar
1 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking powder

1/2 c. milk

Directions:

Combine boiling water, brown sugar, raisins and 1 T. butter, simmer for 15 minutes.  Add vanilla and set aside.  In a separate mixing bowl, cream together 1 T. butter and white sugar.  Add remaining dry ingredients alternating with the milk.  Pour cake batter into a 9x13-inch baking pan and gently pour pudding mixture on top, making sure your raisins are distributed evenly over batter.  Bake at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes.
