German Chocolate Upside Down Cake

This is my husband’s very favorite cake. I have been making it for years and he never tires of it. It always receives compliments and requests for the recipe each time it is served to guests.

Ingredients:

1 18 1/4-ounce box German chocolate cake mix
1 c. shredded coconut
1 c. chopped pecans
1 stick margarine
1 8-ounce package cream cheese
3 3/4 c. confectioners’ sugar (1 box)

Directions:

Mix cake mix as directed on box. Sprinkle coconut and pecans on bottom of a greased 9x13-inch pan. Pour batter over coconut and pecans. In a saucepan, melt margarine and cream cheese. Add confectioners’ sugar and mix. Spread or drizzle this mixture over the top of the cake. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 40 minutes or until done (leaves sides of pan).
