Cake…
Ingredients:
2 c. flour
2 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking
soda
1/2 c.
shortening
1 stick
margarine
4 T. cocoa,
heaping
1 c. strong
coffee
2 eggs
1/2 c.
buttermilk or sour cream
1 tsp. vanilla
Directions:
Mix flour,
sugar and baking soda together. In
saucepan, mix shortening, margarine, cocoa and coffee and bring to a boil.
Add cocoa mixture to dry ingredients and beat well.
Beat in eggs, buttermilk and vanilla. Pour
and spread mixture in greased and lightly floured jelly roll pan.
Bake in a preheated 350-degree oven for 20 minutes or until done.
Frosting…
Ingredients:
1 stick
margarine
4 T. cocoa,
heaping
1/2 c.
evaporated milk
1 pound box
confectioners' sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. chopped
nuts or coconut
Directions:
Mix margarine,
cocoa and milk. Bring to a boil
and pour mixture over confectioners' sugar.
Add vanilla and mix well. Fold
in nuts or coconut. Frost while
cake is warm.
